From the Beginning to the End.
I am interested in the numerous books by Kuspit, Danto, Gablik and others about the ‘end’ of Art and especially the ‘End’ of Painting. I try and wrestle with the relevance of painting today against the completion of the ‘story’ of painting and the passing of Post Modernism. I look for inspiration in musical, landscape and language notations and theories to explore how paintings can still have legitimacy. How paintings can still energise and inspire.
